About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining hatchery equipment, ensuring chick quality, and assisting with various tasks as needed. The position involves working indoors with temperatures ranging from 64-100 degrees Fahrenheit, and occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of PPE and fall protection when necessary. A key aspect of the role is ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed, particularly concerning safety and animal welfare.

Requirements

• Always use correct PPE for individual job tasks.
• Hearing protection must be worn during chick processing.
• Fall protection must be used in the event work is over 4' from ground level.
• Required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Make certain all GMP's are followed at all times as they relate to safety and Animal Welfare.

Responsibilities

• Notify hatchery management of any machine issue that could affect chick quality.
• Work on Wednesday clean days.
• Repair farm buggies.
• Perform any other job duties as requested by Hatchery Management.
• Fill in for Hatchery Jobs during absences.
• Perform general tasks assigned by Management when there are no absences.
