About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hatchery by addressing machine issues that may affect chick quality, performing repairs on farm buggies, and assisting with general hatchery tasks during absences or as assigned by management. The position also emphasizes adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for safety and animal welfare, and requires the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must wear hearing protection during chick processing.
Must use fall protection in the event work is over 4' from ground level.

Responsibilities

Notify hatchery management of any machine issue that could affect chick quality.
Work on Wednesday clean days.
Repair farm buggies.
Perform any other job duties as requested by Hatchery Management.
Fill in for Hatchery Jobs during absences.
Perform general tasks assigned by Management when there are not absences.
Make certain all GMP's are followed at all times as they relate to safety and Animal Welfare.
Always use correct PPE for individual job tasks.
Wear hearing protection during chick processing.
Use fall protection in the event work is over 4' from ground level.
