About The Position
The Hatchery QA Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure flock standards and maintain a clean, safe environment. This role involves working with vaccines, operating machinery, inspecting chicks, and adhering to strict biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines. The work environment may include increased noise levels due to machinery.
Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for entire shift
- Lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Mix vaccines and assist with operating the automated egg injection machines
- Weigh and inspect chicks hourly to ensure flocks meet standards
- Follow strict biosecurity rules
- Maintain clean lab environments
- Adhere to animal welfare guidelines
- Perform other duties as requested by the QA Manager
