About The Position

This position at Pilgrim's involves essential duties and responsibilities related to hatchery production. The role requires pulling eggs from incubators, processing them through the inovoject machine, and cleaning and sanitizing incubators. The employee will observe equipment operations, report malfunctions or safety concerns, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaboration and assistance with colleagues are expected, along with maintaining a positive work atmosphere. A strong emphasis is placed on recognizing and acting on safety risks, practicing safe work habits, and participating in process improvement initiatives. Adherence to company animal welfare guidelines is also a key responsibility. Other duties may be assigned as directed.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work in warm temperatures (around 100 degrees)
  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly
  • Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.)
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Good hand and eye coordination required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Food or production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pull eggs from incubator and process through inovoject machine.
  • Clean and sanitize incubators after processing.
  • Observe equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams.
  • Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks.
  • Consistently practice and enforce safe work habits and drive those habits throughout the organization.
  • Participate in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
  • Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
  • Other duties as directed.
