About The Position

Pilgrim's is a leading global provider of high-quality food products. This position is responsible for overseeing the Embrex process to ensure all functions of the job are done according to procedure. The role involves ensuring proper vaccination quality, performing maintenance on Embrex equipment, managing inventory, setting up and sanitizing equipment, and monitoring machines for proper operation. The Hatchery Process Lead will also train others and adhere to all company policies regarding personnel, quality, safety, and food safety. This position starts at $24.30/hour.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must not raise any poultry or birds
  • Ability to work: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Saturday (Holidays may be required)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Embrex vaccinating quality by using monitoring reports and assuring vaccines are mixed according to instructions.
  • Performs maintenance on Embrex equipment.
  • Maintains spare parts inventory and monitors vaccine inventories.
  • Set up and take down Embrex process equipment.
  • Wash and sanitize Embrex equipment and incubators and rooms.
  • Remove racks of eggs from incubators and load into Embrex machine.
  • Place empty egg flats into farm racks.
  • Place full racks of egg flats in washer and stage in holding area.
  • Place full hatcher dollies of eggs into hatchers.
  • Monitors machines and equipment for proper operation and document findings.
  • Perform maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Train others with the skills and knowledge gained from position.
  • Observes all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership team.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
