About The Position

This position is responsible for hatchery security by performing all essential duties. Other duties may be assigned. The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have no disciplinary actions within the last 6 months, a point level
  • Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; bend/stoop; talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring incubator’s/Hatcher’s and Egg rooms by hourly temperature/humidity checks, making sure incubator program starts when it is suppose too on Wednesday’s and record readings and report any issues immediately.
  • Dispenses formaldehyde per schedule, fumigates specified areas of facility as required, clean, setup, and operate tray washer, operate high pressure washer to clean hatcher’s and hatcher room’s and disinfect.
  • Taking pedigree egg inventory on Saturday nights.
  • Push egg racks to egg driver on Wednesday evening.
  • Fill out nightly check list when tasks are complete.
  • Operate a high pressure and regular water hose.
  • Dispose of hatchery waste.
  • Clean incinerator.
  • Monitor operation of generator during power failure.
  • Maintains foot pans and hand sanitizer.
  • Cleaning breakroom and bathrooms.
  • Stock all egg rooms with paper towels and latex gloves.
  • Making egg boxes for egg shipments and fumigate.
