About The Position

The Embrex team is responsible for overseeing the process to ensure all functions of the job are done according to procedures. This role involves participating in the hatchery quality control program, animal welfare, biosecurity, and safety programs. The position requires ensuring correct eggs are pulled and placed into the correct hatchers, and involves working in environments with high temperatures and unpleasant smells. The job also includes maintaining inventory, setting up and sanitizing equipment, moving racks of eggs, and performing maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

Ability to comply with the company's low transfer crack assessment expectation.
Ability to work in an environment of 100+ degrees for long periods of time and withstand unpleasant smells.
Ability to lift or push pull 50 lbs. or more repeatedly.
Ability for continuous standing, walking and frequent lifting, turning, twisting, bending, squatting, pushing, grasping, kneeling, reach forward, pulling stretching.
Must not raise any poultry or birds.
Demonstrate ability to read, write and speak English preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee the process to ensure all functions of the job are done according to procedures.
Partake in the hatchery quality control program, animal welfare, biosecurity, and safety programs.
Ensure that the correct eggs are being pulled and placed into the correct hatchers.
Work in an environment of 100+ degrees for long periods of time and withstand unpleasant smells.
Lift or push pull 50 lbs. or more repeatedly.
Perform continuous standing, walking and frequent lifting, turning, twisting, bending, squatting, pushing, grasping, kneeling, reach forward, pulling stretching.
Maintain spare parts inventory and monitors vaccine inventories.
Set up and take down Embrex process equipment.
Wash and sanitize Embrex equipment and incubators and rooms.
Remove racks of eggs from incubators and load into Embrex machine.
Place empty egg flats into farm racks.
Place full racks of egg flats in washer and stage in holding areas.
Place full hatcher dollies of eggs into hatchers.
Monitor machines and equipment for proper operation and document findings.
Perform maintenance repairs as needed.
Train others with the skills and knowledge gained from positions.
Perform equipment adjustments as needed and inform Leadership/Maintenance when equipment is deficient and unable to identify immediate action.
Perform other duties as directed.
Observe and enforce all company personnel, quality, safety policies.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a good manner.
Arrive on time, complete scheduled shifts, and provide advance notice for planned absences.
Do not leave the premises until the job is complete.
Communicate effectively with others in a manner that maintains harmony with co-workers.
Work with minimal supervision.
