About The Position

Headstart Hatching is seeking a diligent and dependable individual to join our team. The Cleaning & Janitorial position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and biosecurity hatchery environment through routine cleaning, disinfecting, laundry services, and waste removal. This role helps support animal health, employee safety, and hatchery operations by ensuring all work areas, equipment, and employee garments are cleaned and maintained according to company sanitation and biosecurity standards.

Nice To Haves

Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning experience.
Experience working in an agricultural, poultry, hatchery, food production, or manufacturing environment.
Bilingual English and Spanish

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize hatchery common areas, offices, breakrooms, restrooms, hallways, and other designated areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste materials.
Clean windows, doors, walls, and other facility surface as assigned.
Perform daily laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing employee smocks, aprons, towels, and other assigned garments.
Maintain an organized inventory of clean smocks, aprons, and other protective clothing.
Ensure laundry and cleaning supplies are stocked and readily available.
Clean and disinfect laundry equipment, cleaning equipment, and designated work areas.
Properly wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow established procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of cleaning chemicals.
Assist with special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning assignments as needed.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
Comply with all company policies, safety requirements, and animal welfare standards.
Follow all hatchery biosecurity, sanitation, and disinfecting protocols to prevent contamination and the spread of disease.
