About The Position

The purpose of this position is to clean and disinfect the interior and exterior of hatchers, eliminating all chick debris and bacteria.

Must be able to work in temperature extremes, on feet for the entire shift.
Must be able to push/pull 1000 pound wheeled buggies, full and empty of poultry, up to 50 feet.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds of equipment or product anywhere from the floor to above shoulder height at various times throughout the shift.
Must be able to climb 10 steps on a ladder and work at an elevated level of 10 feet at various times throughout the shift.
Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required.
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of Hazardous Communications and the proper methods of use of chemicals.

Cleans hatchers by scraping, scrubbing, and shoveling out chick down, spraying with a pressure hose, applying acid at times, and disinfecting.
Cleans hatcher hallway daily.
Climbs on top of hatchers to ensure they are clean of all chick debris.
Keeps all equipment in a clean and usable condition.
Maintains production requirements by cleaning out 35-40 hatchers per shift.
Unloads buggies from hatchers to clean hatchers and re-loads clean buggies when completed.
Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
