About The Position

The Harvest Room Labor position hangs live birds in shackles. Located after the cage dumper, this is the first chain-driven operation. The live hanger removes a bird from the hanging belt, grasps it first by one leg and then the other, positions it with the breast side facing away, and hangs it by both legs into a shackle. Hang rate varies by bird weight. Live hangers rotate positions from front to back and place any DOAs into the DO barrel at the end of the conveyor.

The role is for second shift in Center, Texas. Pay is $19.70 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour second-shift differential. Stay-on bonuses are offered for continued service in the live hang position: $500 at 30 days, $500 at 90 days, and $1,000 at 180 days (six months).

Responsibilities

• Rotate between positions from the front to the back.
• Place deceased-on-arrival (DOA) birds into the DO barrel at the end of the conveyor.
