About The Position

This position requires the use of a knife to kill chickens that the kill machine misses and to monitor the line for bent shackles. The role is responsible for ensuring all birds are properly deceased before continuing down the line. The position involves working in hot, dark, dusty, wet, and bloody environments, requiring the use of hands and arms above shoulder level and standing for 8-10 hours a day. It also requires the ability to push/pull/carry/lift 40+ pounds periodically. Applicants must be willing to stand on a metal platform up to 100% of the shift and perform repetitive bending, twisting, stooping, lifting, and reaching. The role also requires the use of both hands and arms to pick up live birds. All applicants must provide their government identification number for verification of previous Tyson employment history. This facility will not accept applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times and accepts rehires after 180 days, though Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal. Certain roles require background checks, and applicants will be provided with additional documentation if offered a position requiring one. Hourly applicants must complete a task after submitting their application to be considered for employment.

Requirements

  • Must wear PPE, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net and beard guard.
  • Ability to understand and agree to follow all Safety Rules.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Provide government identification number for verification of previous Tyson employment history.
  • Not have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times.
  • Be rehired after 180 days (subject to Tyson's discretion).
