About The Position

This role involves working in an area where livestock will be slaughtered. The work environment is characterized by wet and humid conditions, temperatures near or below freezing in coolers and freezers, and areas with unpleasant odors. Employees will also work in damp or cold conditions (30-40 Degrees in Fabrication) and extreme heat (up to 104 degrees on the Harvest floor). The job requires lifting, pulling, or pushing up to 50 lbs, and working with sharp knives or cutting tools. Overtime and weekend work, including Saturdays, may be necessary. The position is physically demanding, involving repetitive hand and body movements, bending, stooping, and twisting throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment. Job rotation between different tasks is expected. It may take 5 to 6 weeks for the body to fully adjust to the work conditions, environment, and job descriptions.

Requirements

  • Knife skills
  • Ability to lift/pull/push 10 lbs. - 50 lbs. in production
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand motions and grasping with neutral wrist.
  • Ability to reach for products on the conveyor belt with hooks, and reach for boxes or bags.
  • Ability to stand constantly on concrete or platforms for 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week.
  • Ability to exert 51 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 26 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and 11 to 20 pounds constantly moving objects.
  • Ability to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, face mask & face shield, steel-toed rubber boots or closed-toe shoes, a frock, and multiple layers of gloves.
  • Ability to work with others and get along with others.

Responsibilities

  • Work overtime when necessary.
  • Work during weekdays and overtime.
  • Work Saturdays.
  • Work in or around bloody areas in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Perform repetitive hand and body movements.
  • Bend, stoop, and twist repetitively throughout an entire shift.
  • Rotate between jobs as expected.
  • Report to work on time for every scheduled start.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow supervisor's and manager's instructions.
  • Work to the best of your abilities and desire to learn and grow.
