About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Sports Flooring Foreman who can take ownership of a hardwood gym flooring project and ensure it is completed correctly. This is not an entry-level position and requires a deep understanding of hardwood gym floors, including various finishing systems and the ability to lead a crew independently. The role involves managing all aspects of a jobsite, from preparation to quality control, and delivering a finished product the individual can be proud of. The company offers year-round work and is willing to relocate the right candidate.
Requirements
- Real, hands-on experience with hardwood gym and athletic flooring.
- Experience with rider sanding machines.
- Experience with walk-behind sanding machines.
- Experience with edging and detailed sanding.
- Knowledge of sanding sequences and proper floor preparation.
- Experience with oil-based sealers and finishes.
- Experience with water-based sealers and finishes.
- Experience with gym floor paints.
- Experience with game lines, graphics, and logos.
- Experience with hardwood floor installation, refinishing, and maintenance.
- Experience running a small crew.
- Experience running an active jobsite.
- Experience with quality control, production, and jobsite safety.
- Comfortable being the person responsible for the finished product.
Responsibilities
- Lead a crew without supervision.
- Take ownership of hardwood gym flooring projects.
- Run rider and walk-behind sander machines.
- Understand oil- and water-based finishing systems.
- Manage sanding sequences and proper floor preparation.
- Apply oil-based and water-based sealers and finishes.
- Paint gym floors, including game lines, graphics, and logos.
- Perform hardwood floor installation, refinishing, and maintenance.
- Manage a small crew.
- Run an active jobsite.
- Ensure quality control, production, and jobsite safety.
- Be responsible for the finished product.
