About The Position
Smart Design is seeking a temporary mid-level or senior hardware systems engineer to contribute to one or two client projects. The role is expected to begin in October 2026 and last for 2-3 months, with a potential for conversion to a full-time position. The position is based in Brooklyn, requiring a minimum of 4 days per week onsite.
Requirements
- Experience with complex PCB layout using Altium
- Experience with circuit design
- Familiarity with embedded systems, circuits, microcontrollers and sensor
- Experience with DFMA for electronics
- Experience designing electronics for small consumer appliances
- Experience with manual board assembly and rework
- Experience with design to meet regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with Git
Nice To Haves
- Ability to code in C/C++, Python
- Experience working with connected devices
- Experience collaborating with a multi-discipline team
