About The Position

Swan Valley Co-op is hiring a full time (40 hours per week) Hardware Sales Clerk at our Home and Building (HABS) location in Swan River, MB. Co-op does business differently. As a co-operative, we believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. The successful candidate is responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences in alignment with Swan Valley Co-op’s guiding statements; merchandising and displaying product; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards. Our team provides a range of products and services to support our member-owners. Through the work that we do, we help to build, fuel, feed and grow Western Canadian communities together.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
Highly motivated and have the ability to multi-task.
Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days and Saturdays.
Manual/heavy labour (lifting up to 50lbs) on a repetitive and regular basis.
Honest and trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
Believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.

Nice To Haves

Previous lumber/hardware experience would be an asset but is not required.

Responsibilities

Operate a cash register and point of sale system, and assist with daily cash audits when necessary.
Perform all duties associated with inventory stocking, including receiving and assisting with inventory counts when required.
May participate in ordering product.
Mix paint as required and make product recommendations.
Maintain shelf and display stock and organizing all goods intended for sale to meet established standards.
