About The Position

The Hardware Sales Associate assists customers with selecting the right hardware, tools, materials, and products for their home improvement, yard, repair, or business needs. This position provides knowledgeable and friendly customer service by answering product questions, making recommendations, locating merchandise, and helping customers find practical solutions for their projects. The Hardware Sales Associate also supports daily store operations by stocking and organizing merchandise, maintaining clean and attractive displays, monitoring inventory, and ensuring products are properly priced and readily available for customers.

Requirements

General knowledge of retail products and product categories; knowledge of hardware, lawn and garden, and paint products preferred.
Ability to listen to customers, understand their needs, and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Ability to operate a register, computer, calculator, and other basic retail equipment.
Ability to work efficiently, promptly, and accurately while managing multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness and ability to learn about products and their applications.
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in locating products and provide information about available products, services, and solutions.
Help customers select hardware, lawn and garden, paint, and related products based on their project needs.
Generate sales by providing knowledgeable product recommendations and exceptional customer service.
Answer customer questions and assist with product selection, availability, pricing, and basic product use.
Stock, price, organize, and maintain merchandise throughout the store.
Create and maintain attractive, organized product displays and merchandising areas.
Order products and assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Monitor merchandise to ensure products are properly stocked, labeled, and priced.
Operate the register and accurately process customer transactions as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming sales environment.
Assist with other store duties and customer needs as assigned.
