About The Position

At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), the Hardware Installer plays a key role in delivering high-quality, precision-prepped door systems that meet the demands of both field teams and customers. Specializing in Hollow Metal Doors & Frames and Architectural Wood Doors, this position supports our shop operations by ensuring all door hardware is properly installed, aligned, and prepared for field deployment. Requirements

  • 1–2 years minimum experience in commercial door and hardware installation
  • Solid knowledge of commercial doors (wood and hollow metal) and their associated hardware
  • Proficient in using woodworking and metalworking tools and machines
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as hardware schedules and templates
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of ANSI/BHMA standards
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights. Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fire-rated door labeling or door/frame fabrication

Responsibilities

  • Accurately machine wood and hollow metal doors for commercial hardware, including hinges, locks, latches, closers, vision kits, and other components
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, templates, and hardware schedules to ensure precise installation
  • Use woodworking and metalworking tools and machines safely and accurately
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate effectively with team members while also working independently as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
  • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
  • Use proper lifting techniques
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
