About The Position

As a Hardware Engineering Manager on Google’s Laptops & Tablets (L&T) Platform Enablement team in San Jose, you will lead a specialized team of hardware engineers defining and enabling the next-generation laptop hardware ecosystem. You will serve as both a people leader and system architect, providing technical and personal guidance to your team and acting as the hardware authority while partnering with Software, Firmware, Silicon, Product Management, and Partner Engineering teams. You will drive multi-year platform roadmaps, establish scalable hardware design guides across major SoC architectures, and lead early reference validation platforms from concept and architecture through mass production. The role involves making technical decisions and arbitrating system trade-offs across silicon vendors, ODMs, and OEMs, alongside coaching and developing your engineering team. The Platforms and Devices team works across Google’s computing software platforms and first-party devices and services, combining AI, software, and hardware to develop technologies and experiences that make interactions with computing faster and more seamless.
