About The Position

The Hardware Engineering Design Intern will gain real-world engineering experience while working alongside experienced engineers to develop next-generation networking products at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The role provides hands-on exposure to hardware and meaningful engineering projects, helping the intern build practical skills and learn how product ideas move from design and lab validation toward real-world networking products. The position is designated onsite, with the expectation that the intern will primarily work from an HPE office.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, with expected graduation in 2028.
• Completed or currently completing the third year of study.
• Coursework, projects, or hands-on experience with electronic circuits and hardware.
• Familiarity with lab equipment and circuit measurement.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Curious, motivated, and excited to learn by doing.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to high-speed signaling, analog/power, PCB design, or CAD tools.
• Experience with Python, Perl, TCL, or similar scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Support hardware design, board bring-up, debugging, testing, and validation.
• Use lab equipment to measure, characterize, and troubleshoot hardware.
• Gain exposure to high-speed digital, analog/power, and PCB/PCA design.
• Help identify technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop scripts and tools to support testing and engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams on real product development.
