About The Position

We are currently seeking a Hardware Engineer (Early Career) to join the Advanced Microsystems Solutions group. This position is a full-time opportunity located in Columbus, OH. "From Silicon to Systems" — We are an elite, multi-disciplinary team bringing together the brightest minds from physics, computer science, electrical engineering, and mathematics to develop unique embedded security solutions for government and industrial customers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field with 0-2 years experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience developing and debugging software for embedded systems
  • Experience developing embedded microprocessor-based systems, including digital and analog circuit design
  • Understanding and experience in integrated circuit design
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and architecture
  • Experience with electronic test and measurement equipment
  • Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; Sole US Citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in microcontroller-based design and analysis
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or C#
  • Strong bench skills, including digital and analog circuit prototyping and application-specific test and measurement instrument design
  • Experience in data visualization, signal processing, statistical techniques, and technical writing
  • FPGA design expertise using Verilog or VHDL
  • Experience in integrated circuit design simulation, layout, and verification workflows
  • Solid understanding of ASIC electronic design automation (EDA) tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, etc.
  • Understanding of ASIC design flow and verification methodologies
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical and electronic systems, components, equipment, and networks
  • Collaborate with the Trust and Analytics team to assess the security, reliability, and trustworthiness of electronic devices, integrated circuits, and embedded systems
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to prepare technical content tailored to the client's mission; participate in technical discussions and field questions effectively
  • Identify and articulate strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions, and problem approaches during technical discussions
  • Determine design approaches and parameters; analyze equipment to establish operating data
  • Conduct experimental tests and evaluate results
  • Demonstrate awareness of deliverables and their role within the project plan; identify and execute steps necessary to complete assignments with guidance from subject matter experts
  • Contribute to Internal Research and Development (IRAD) studies
