About The Position

The Arlo Smart Home Device team is seeking a Hardware/Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience in the electronics industry. You should be self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks at the same time under supervision of a Manager. You should be comfortable with product-level testing, test scripting, reviewing other engineer’s work in some cases. You should be able to report results and issues in a clear manner. The position is in large part lab work in our office in Richmond, BC.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the electronics industry
  • Experience in performing measurements with bench top equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, power analyzers.
  • Experience in compiling test data reports using Excel or similar.
  • Experience with using test scripts such as Python.
  • BSEE or higher

Responsibilities

  • Review schematics, PCB layouts, and test results from 3rd party suppliers (mostly in Asia) and share feedback, including through video calls.
  • Evaluate new components for future projects and design some circuits as needed.
  • Participate in product testing within the Hardware team under engineering supervision. Testing includes manual bench testing and automated testing via test scripts. Tests will be diverse including verifying battery charging & discharging, EMI coexistence tests, power consumption, functionality, …..
  • Root cause any issue found and propose fixes, with help from other engineers as needed.
  • Review test results from 3rd party suppliers and share feedback.
  • Generate clear test and data reports for engineering colleagues to review.
