About The Position

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Discipline Technician located in Orange, TX. This role provides maintenance craft specific support to plants. The technician will maintain and repair all types of equipment within their craft knowledge and expertise. This position requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities and may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Requirements

A minimum of a High School Diploma OR GED equivalent is required.
The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
3 or more years of relevant experience in a Chemical, Oil and Gas, or Manufacturing environment
Must have a current, valid US driver's license
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.

Communication: Effective communication to resolve process issues and act as a resource for other operators and technicians.
Detail Oriented: The ability to identify equipment requiring maintenance, clear and tag equipment, and issue Safe Work Permits for maintenance and project work.
Time Management: The ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
Teamwork and Leadership: Demonstrating leadership skills, inspiring others, and working independently with minimal supervision within an empowered team environment.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
Calibrates and aligns equipment.
Completes preventative maintenance activities.
Checks sizing of components and parts.
Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
Coordinates maintenance spare parts.
Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures and repairs all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
