About The Position

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. As a Hardware Engineer, you will be a part of the team of experts working on the development of advanced Customer Terminal products.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems

Responsibilities

  • Design high-speed digital and/or RF circuits in collaboration with various teams
  • Design and optimization of different blocks of electronics sub-systems
  • Schematic capture and lead PCB layout design and reviews
  • Design DC/DC power supplies and Point of Load
  • Support flow-down requirement definitions and generate test plans/procedures
  • Board bring-up and perform test campaigns of modules and subsystems
  • Support design automated test systems, test fixtures and factory test
  • Support the transition of the designs to mass production
