About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks, including households, schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies. The company seeks professionals eager to join an ambitious project that pushes the state of the art in satellite system design, test, verification, and operation. This role is for an engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get things done quickly and effectively. The successful candidate will work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, integration, test, and operations teams. The position requires comfort with a high degree of ambiguity and a relish for solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before, promising significant learning, fun, and positive impact on millions of people. As an experienced member of the team, you will lead a variety of tasks for your hardware subsystem, from board design, to board bring-up, design validation, and integration. You will work with a cross functional team to perform design validation and qualification testing for your subsystem. As your subsystem continues onto satellite level test and operations, you will be the subject matter expert that interfaces with the vehicle integration & test and operations teams from test planning through launch and on orbit operations. You will be responsible for evaluating hardware health telemetry across test and operations while also developing processes to troubleshoot and to incorporate design improvements for issues discovered. The team is responsible for delivering hardware subsystems for the flight computer, power delivery, and RF systems on the satellite avionics bus, supporting development from initial design through testing, integration, verification, and operation on-orbit.
