About The Position

As a Hardware Development Engineer within the (RDPI) team, you will design, develop, and deliver mechanical components and systems for Amazon's next generation of products. You will work with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into manufacturable designs that meet customer needs and business requirements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mechanical design projects from concept through production, ensuring designs meet functional requirements, cost targets, and manufacturing constraints
  • Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies
  • Conduct engineering analyses including tolerance stack-ups, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical designs against product requirements
  • Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing partners to integrate mechanical designs with other subsystems.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during development and production phases
  • Document design decisions, test results, and engineering changes
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes
