About The Position

As a key member of our team the Bartender is responsible for providing high levels of customer service to all guests by providing prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. The Bartender will always perform guest service duties in a friendly and professional manner and ensure the guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

Requirements

  • 1 year of bartending experience.
  • Serving It Right certification.
  • Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • High level of organization skills.
  • Relevant training certifications.
  • Engaging and professional appearance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
  • Confidence and ability to create seasonal and new drinks for the restaurant menu, while taking into consideration different flavors.
  • Ability to pay attention to fine details and presentation standards.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Shift supervisor experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure these are given to the appropriate person to execute (i.e., kitchen staff, bartender, etc.)
  • Product knowledge related to liquor, wine, beer, and food.
  • Maintain consistency with the composition of all menu items, including items available at the bar.
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Clean designated areas, including opening and closing routines.
  • Set tables according to standards, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged, and in an excellent state of repair.
  • Clean tables and ensure they are cleaned as soon as it is apparent that guests have finished their food and drink with an acceptable balance between speed yet allowing guests to finish their meal without feeling rushed.
  • At all times to be aware of and practice good guest service, assisting the guest in any way which does not adversely affect guests.
  • Provide a warm welcome to guests and a final goodbye when they leave the restaurant or lounge.
  • Always anticipate guest needs.
  • Create new drink items depending on season, event, or current holidays.
  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverage for bar and restaurant patrons.
  • Interact with guests, take orders, and serve drinks.
  • Assess guest needs and preferences and make recommendations.
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
  • Plan and present bar menu.
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Always refer to OH&S standards and follow them to ensure a safe workspace. Follow all resort policies and procedures and adhere to the grooming policies.
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
