About The Position

In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam’s etch and deposition products. At Lam, you will play a pivotal role in shaping next‑generation hardware solutions by applying your deep expertise in mechanical design and engineering. You’ll drive innovation through advanced CAD and PDM/PLM practices and help push the boundaries of digital transformation across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least five years of direct hardware design experience
  • Highly skilled in 3D CAD modeling tools such as Siemens NX, CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and others
  • Proficiency in concept design and development for mechanical components or sub-systems
  • Knowledge in creating drawings for sheet metal and machined parts
  • Strong understanding of various material properties, coatings, and finishes
  • Experience with metal machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting processes, and additive manufacturing
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering, engineering/design methods and processes, and engineering drawing
  • Solid knowledge on welding symbols, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, surface finish, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) drafting standards
  • Experience in BOM configuration management, change control, and product release using PDM/PLM applications like Teamcenter, Windchill, Agile PLM
  • Keen understanding of and experience with large assembly management methodologies and concurrent engineering principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications including CoPilot and Teams, Adobe Acrobat

  • Prior experience in the semiconductor equipment industry
  • Experience in collaborating effectively across global cross-functional teams within a matrix organization
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop precise mechanical parts and subassemblies and create layouts to support product design and technology development while adhering to established engineering standards, best practices, and DFx principles
  • Document and release engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) through Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Program Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Supply Chain to define design and cost requirements, and conduct Design Reviews to complete the full design and development cycle
