About The Position

The Hardware Design Assurance Engineer II plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and compliance of aerospace products and services, with a focus on inflight entertainment systems, connectivity solutions, and customer support operations. This cross-functional role supports quality initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field service teams, driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Ensures that quality and safety are embedded throughout the product design lifecycle. This role works closely with design engineering teams to review the design and perform RCCA for product and process ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality requirements. The position combines technical expertise in electronics design with strong quality assurance principles to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3- 5+ years of experience in engineering field.
  • Design engineering background (required).
  • Hands-on experience in product design and development.
  • Strong technical depth (required).
  • Solid understanding of hardware systems (electrical or mechanical).
  • Experience working with design/R&D teams.
  • Design validation, design changes, or development lifecycle involvement.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work across engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience and knowledge of circuit design and PCB design.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25–50% depending on assignment).

Nice To Haves

  • NPI / Product development experience (preferred).
  • knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9145, and industry-specific standards for airborne systems is a plus.
  • Experience with quality and reliability engineering tools such as FMEA, RCCA, and SPC.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and environmental testing standards (e.g., DO-254, DO-160, RTCA, FAA/EASA requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and verification/validation activities to ensure quality is built into products from the planning stage to design release phase.
  • Develop and maintain quality verification plans for new products development.
  • Review design, verification results and apply Safety requirements to ensure product and system Safety compliance throughout the product life cycle.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure the maturity of quality of the products from initial production.
  • Provide training and guidance to engineering and cross-functional teams on applicable safety standards, design principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA) for internal issues, supplier defects, and customer-reported problems.
  • Interface with suppliers and service partners to ensure quality requirements are met and support supplier development initiatives.
  • Analyze quality performance data (e.g., defect rates, reliability metrics, field returns) to identify trends and lead improvement projects.
  • Drive the process improvement to make it more effective, efficient, and comply with quality and safety requirement.
