At GE Vernova’s Critical Infrastructure Communications (CIC), we provide the reliable, industrial-grade communication backbone essential for modernizing the global energy grid and ensuring connectivity in the world's most demanding environments. As a core contributor within the CIC Engineering team, you will collaborate with industry experts to design and implement advanced automation frameworks, ensuring our test capabilities remain at the forefront of our product development cycle.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering (or related disciplines).
  • Completed at least two years of their degree program.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong academic foundation, evidenced by a minimum 3.0 unrounded GPA.
  • Strong foundation in Linux OS, shell scripting, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP), complemented by experience in Python, GitHub Actions, and the Robot Framework.
  • Ability to adhere to established design principles and development processes within a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of curiosity and an analytical mindset to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to lead, work effectively in a team, and mentor/learn from peers.
  • A highly self-motivated individual who operates well under minimal supervision, consistently demonstrating academic excellence and the initiative to drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and refine your expertise in electrical engineering and test automation to perform critical hardware and software validation for real-world industrial applications.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative communications products serving vital sectors, including energy, oil and gas, mining, water/wastewater, and transportation.
  • Accelerate your career growth through direct mentorship, technical coaching, and training from world-class industry experts and technical leadership.
  • Advance your core hardware design capabilities while exploring new technical domains and expanding your professional skill set.
  • Gain practical experience in the full product lifecycle with exposure to industrialization processes at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Rochester, NY.

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
