Otter Co-op is now hiring for Part-Time Hardware Associates for our Retail Centre located in Langley, BC. Otter Co-op is a diverse and growing organization, serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and BC Interior since 1922. With over 103 years in business and over 600 in our team, we are proud to be a locally owned and community minded member of the neighbourhoods we live, work and play in. We operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with a fashion and hardware department), thirty Angry Otter liquor stores, one feed mill, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, and multiple gas station/convenience stores. Requirements

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Displays enthusiasm about delivering excellent Guest Service
  • Ability to take and maintain the Forklift Certification
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  • Ability to construct and build seasonal displays
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have open availability and be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
  • This position is based out of the Retail Centre, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse experience is an asset
  • Previous DIY Home Reno/Repair experience in building supplies and/or gardening/landscape is an asset
  • Preference for candidates available Monday-Friday day shifts

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all guests
  • Stock shelves with merchandise
  • Utilize product knowledge to promote sales
  • Responsible for ensuring area is always clean and presentable
  • Operate a forklift if required
  • Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned
