About The Position

FM Industries is a manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print services, precision-machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal-spray coatings, supporting customers from prototype through production. The Hardware Assembler 3 performs hardware installation and finishing on repeat or proven parts of varying complexity and materials, with little to no direction from an area lead or supervisor. The role includes installing hardware and polishing sealing surfaces and O-rings to meet required finishes, while following blueprints, shop routers, company procedures, and best machine practices.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED equivalent, or technical school.
Reliability and excellent attendance.

Nice To Haves

4–6 years of related experience preferred.
Enrollment in vocational education for machine technology or the practical aspects of blueprint reading and GD&T preferred.

Responsibilities

Kit helicoils for jobs.
Install helicoils and dowel pins in parts and subassemblies using blueprints and shop routers to determine size, quantity, and location.
Install keencerts, captive screws, PEM nuts or studs, and Lee plugs on repeat or proven parts.
Cut gaskets or perform masking.
Polish sealing-surface lay patterns on post-anodize parts to achieve specified finishes.
Polish O-rings on post-anodize parts to achieve the desired surface finish.
Operate pneumatic or electric power-finishing tools, including orbital sanders, DA sanders, flappers, and die grinders.
Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
Follow blueprints or instructions to achieve required surface finishes, including lay patterns and sealing surfaces.
Ensure company procedures and best machine practices are followed and in place.
