About The Position

This role is within the Wearable Hardware Applications Team, responsible for delivering high quality technical support and engineering leadership to customers developing products on Qualcomm System on Chip (SoC) platforms. You will operate with a high level of autonomy, lead technically complex customer engagements, and contribute to both customer success and internal product execution. You will be accountable for driving successful customer adoption of Qualcomm technologies from early concept and architecture through validation, ramp, and mass production, while collaborating cross functionally to resolve complex system level challenges.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with SoC based system design and bring up, including: CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, DSPs, Power architecture, PDN analysis, SI/PI fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of high speed peripherals and interfaces such as: USB, PCIe, CSI, DSI
  • Experience reviewing and debugging high speed PCB designs
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages used for diagnostics, automation, or hardware validation
  • Prior experience in customer facing engineering roles (Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, Hardware Design, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to execute independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills applied to ambiguous technical issues
  • Clear and professional communication with both customer and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high engineering quality
  • Proven ownership mentality and commitment to customer success
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
  • PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Independently own and execute customer hardware applications engagements of moderate to high complexity
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned customers, providing timely, high quality guidance and issue resolution
  • Support the full product lifecycle, including: System and board level architecture guidance, Design reviews feedback, Hardware bring up, debug, and validation, Sustained support through production ramp
  • Perform hands on debug of complex hardware and system level issues involving power, performance, connectivity, and peripherals
  • Analyze customer requirements and map them to Qualcomm platforms and plan of record
  • Identify gaps, technical risks, or limitations and propose feasible mitigation strategies or workarounds
  • Collaborate effectively with internal silicon, software, power, signal integrity, and platform teams to drive resolution
  • Contribute to best practices, reference designs, and reusable technical documentation
  • Provide informal technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
