Hardscaping /Outdoor Living Crew Members
About The Position
A Plus is currently looking to fill full-time roles on our hardscape crews. The ideal candidates will have a passion for creating luxury outdoor living spaces. Every day and every job is different, so a willingness to cross-train is expected. You won't always just be laying pavers. You will have the opportunity to work on decks, pools, landscapes, water features, etc. We don't perform traditional maintenance services, so no cutting, weeding, trimming, or the like! This is not for a seasonal position. We are looking for candidates who want a lifelong career, not just a job. With year-round work and training/certification programs available, A Plus invests in the advancement of all of our team members.
Requirements
- A valid Driver's License and the willingness to acquire a CDL A through the company (restrictions apply).
- A valid DOT Medical Card or the ability to get one.
- Experienced and comfortable in the safe and proper use of tools and equipment used in outdoor services.
- Strong interpersonal skills, as this position interacts with coworkers and clients on a daily basis.
- The willingness to learn and be a team player.
- The motivation to be self-sufficient and the desire to advance in the company.
- Align with a faith-based culture centered on teamwork, strong character, and excellence.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stand, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in any or all of the following is preferred: landscape, hardscape, excavation, pools, masonry, outdoor lighting, commercial snow removal, heavy equipment operation, or any other outdoor discipline.
Responsibilities
- Install patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor living features using pavers, stone, and concrete
- Prepare job sites by excavating, grading, leveling, and building proper base foundations
- Read and follow project layouts, measurements, and design plans to ensure accurate installation
- Operate tools and equipment such as plate compactors, saws, and measuring instruments
- Cut, place, and secure materials to ensure long-lasting, high-quality finished products
- Assist with drainage solutions to ensure proper water runoff and prevent shifting or erosion
- Travel to job sites within a 2-hour radius, typically working on one project at a time from start to finish
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout each phase of construction
- Work closely with crew members and follow directions from the foreman to complete projects efficiently
