About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, the Hard Maintenance Lead is a working lead person and is required to assume the same duties ensuring required carpentry, plumbing, painting, carpet repair to include minor electrical and plumbing maintenance duties necessary to keep the casino in good repair or upgrade all facilities and structures pertaining to Sandia Resort and Casino. The Hard Maintenance Lead is responsible for equipment and tools necessary to perform such work and supervises the Hard Maintenance Technicians. Requirements

  • General construction or building maintenance experience.
  • Experience acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
  • Facilities maintenance experience and knowledge of required work ranging in a variety of general maintenance and repairs.
  • Knowledge of general safety rules, requirements, procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of safety training and asset management software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good public and employee relations
  • High School Diploma or GED certification.
  • Three (3) years of responsible experience in construction or facilities maintenance work environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
  • Balancing Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead for job/work orders in progress.
  • Directs individual workers or crews in the accomplishment of work, resolves technical problems as required by the Supervisor.
  • Assures satisfactory completion and review of the quality of work.
  • In the absence of the Supervisor, assigns new work, and provides specific instructions.
  • On more complex work orders, may make advance visits to the job site to assist in the determination of work required.
  • May shift workers from one job site to determine the extent of work required, after coordination with the Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager.
  • Coordinates work with other involved units and requests assistance from other units as needed and/or directed by the Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
  • Keeps Supervisor and/or Manager informed on overall work operations and problems.
  • Coordinates, with the Supervisor required training, may recommend promotions, demotions and commendations.
  • Completes job performance reports in the absence of the Supervisor with guidance of the Facilities Manager.
  • May conduct one-the-job training as required by the Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager.
  • May recommend resolution to disciplinary problems and will refer more serious problems to the Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager with a detailed report.
  • Shares responsibilities for ensuring mechanical work performed and that work complies with code requirements of OSHA and building codes governing the Pueblo of Sandia, Sandia Casino.
  • Uses a variety of carpenter’s, plumber’s, concrete and mechanical hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments.
  • Complies with Pueblo, Resort & Casino, and Facilities Department standard operating procedures.
  • Selects materials necessary for the completion of assigned work orders.
  • Responsible for entering all work activity into Computerized Asset Management program.
  • Assist Supervisors in maintaining inventory control of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Work orders may include work orders on tile and sheetrock.
  • In the absence of the Supervisor, is responsible for record-keeping requirements for all work orders and materials used.
  • Must have knowledge for resolving material receipt/inventory.
  • Shares responsibilities for equipment status, repair and inventory with staff.
  • Must ensure compliance with environmental rules regarding storing and use of various types of equipment and materials used.
  • Must have knowledge of material ordering.
  • Must comply with job site safety.
  • Participates in Facilities Safety program and is responsible to complete all safety training and promote a safe work environment for the team members and guests.
  • Works in a composite crew and is required to assist Hard Maintenance, Electrical, Plumbing, Kitchen Repair technicians and or other trades in accomplishing their duties on a routine basis
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all direct work associates as well as networking with all Team Members is essential throughout Pueblo of Sandia whether they hold public facing and/or back-of-the-house positions.
