About The Position

WinnCompanies is seeking a thorough and attentive Handyman to join the maintenance team at Polyclinic Apartments, a 151-unit residential property in New York, NY. The role supports the team in keeping the property clean, functional, and inviting. This is a union position with union benefits and compensation. Pay is $33.04–$33.87 per hour, depending on experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with availability required for off-hours on-call activity for urgent needs.

Requirements

At least 1 year of relevant experience.
General custodial skills demonstrated through property maintenance or janitorial work.
General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
Ability to adhere precisely to a strict routine maintenance schedule.
Ability to speak and understand basic English.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Nice To Haves

Vocational or technical training.
Certificates of Fitness: S12, S13, S14, or P99.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs involving appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating procedures.
Help prepare vacant apartments to meet company market-ready standards.
Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
Be available for off-hours on-call activity and emergencies according to a predetermined schedule and need.
