About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handyman/Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair services for plumbing, HVAC systems, and various carpentry tasks as needed. The role requires a proactive and resourceful individual who can effectively troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and ensure the efficient functioning of residential and commercial properties.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a handyman, carpenter, or maintenance technician.
  • Proficiency in plumbing, HVAC repair, and general carpentry techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues.
  • Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools used in plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a vocational or technical training program in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures.
  • Install, maintain, and replace plumbing components including pipes, valves, faucets, and toilets.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential plumbing problems and recommend preventative measures.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC equipment to identify malfunctions and implement repairs.
  • Replace filters, belts, and other HVAC components as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  • Handle various carpentry tasks including but not limited to door and window repairs, trim work, and minor renovations.
  • Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, drywall, and other materials.
  • Utilize woodworking tools and techniques to fabricate and install custom carpentry pieces as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, patching walls, and repairing flooring.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations while performing repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Interact with clients to understand their maintenance needs and address any concerns.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while onsite and during communication via phone or email.
  • Educate clients on proper maintenance practices and offer recommendations for enhancing property functionality and efficiency.
