About The Position

As an AWS solution architect on our team, you'll translate your customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan by crafting Office 365, Azure, AWS, GCP to designing, architecting, and deploying production-grade AWS solutions, modernizing infrastructure, enabling secure cloud environments including GovCloud and DoD IL, and contributing to enterprise-level cloud transformation initiatives. Through your leadership, we’ll help transform the way the Air Force uses technology including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems. You mentor the next set of developers to help them grow into tomorrow’s solutions architects. As a technical leader, you’ll shape the digital solutions business and identify opportunities for growth. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT
  • 5+ years of experience with architecting and deploying production AWS solutions
  • Experience architecting and engineering cloud solutions in AWS, including VPC design, IAM, EC2, containerized workloads, storage services, and networking fundamentals
  • Experience with cloud‑native and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code such as Terraform and CloudFormation, automated testing, and secure deployment workflows
  • Experience with AWS in GovCloud and DoD or IL environments
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • 8570 IAT II Security+ CE Certifications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and implementing automated build or deploy toolchains such as DevSecOps pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins
  • Experience in cloud cost optimization, including workload right‑sizing, autoscaling strategies, tagging, governance, and leveraging AWS native cost‑management tools
  • Experience migrating on‑premises systems to AWS, including application refactoring, data migration, and modernization of legacy mission systems
  • Experience with containerized and Kubernetes‑based architectures, such as ECS and EKS, supporting scalable and resilient mission workloads in cloud environments
  • Experience working within GovCloud or DoD IL environments, applying security controls and compliance frameworks including NIST, RMF, and 800‑53
  • Ability to collaborate with AOC mission stakeholders to translate operational needs into cloud-native architectural enhancements
