Requirements

  • B.S., M.S. or DPT in Physical Therapy, or B.S. or M.S. or D.O.T. in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state where work is being performed.
  • Certified Hand Therapist by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (has successfully passed HTCC exam and maintains certification)
  • Knowledge of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy anticipated outcomes.
  • A minimum of one year National Certification.
  • At least 3 years of practice in Hand Therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced clinical care for patients with complex upper extremity injuries and conditions, integrating evidence-based practice to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that optimize functional outcomes.
  • Serves as a clinical resource within the Hand Therapy Center, supporting daily operations, coordinating patient care activities, and acting as a liaison between physicians, support staff, and therapy personnel.
  • Contributes to the development and growth of specialized hand therapy programs, supports marketing and outreach initiatives, and provides recommendations for program enhancement and service expansion.
  • Participates in departmental planning, policy and protocol development, quality improvement initiatives, outcomes measurement, staff education, and orientation of new team members, students, and volunteers.
