Schwieters Companies is hiring a full-time experienced Hand Sander/Wood Enthusiast in our Prefinish Department. Requirements

• Basic finishing knowledge preferred
• Must follow company quality standards and have great attention to detail
• Comfortable learning to operate a sander and a forklift
• Candidate must have a good work history
• Able to lift 50+ lbs. comfortably
• Self-motivated, self-directed team player and team builder
• Able to understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions, have good communication skills (verbal and written), and be detail oriented
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time
• Flexible in working overtime when necessary
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position)

Responsibilities

• Correctly sand wood materials manually and with an electric sander
• Inspect all material for quality
• Stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift
• Have constant communication with department lead on progress with work orders
• Work together with a team throughout the warehouse to achieve maximum efficiency with 100% complete and on-time deliveries
• Pick material using a stand/sit forklift as needed
• Other duties as assigned
