About The Position

This is a hands-on production role that plays an important part in the chip manufacturing process by supporting fryer operations, monitoring product quality, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and helping ensure production runs efficiently and safely. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, staying active throughout the shift, and being part of a team focused on quality, safety, and continuous production.

Requirements

  • Requires lifting; 25 lb. tubs of chips into pallets; 80 lb. bags of salt placed onto pallet.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized throughout the shift
  • Comfortable performing physical work and lifting up to 80 lbs regularly
  • Willingness to learn equipment, inventory systems, and production processes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
  • Flexibility to support operational needs and changing priorities
  • Requires basic math and reading skills.
  • Knowledge of types and locations of products and truck loading procedures acquired through on the job training.
  • The ability to prioritize workload to satisfy all production requirements.
  • Requires a forklift operator’s license.
  • Requires the ability to operate a hand jack and life up to 45 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, forklift, or production experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for frying quality chips.
  • Maintains proper oil level and monitors and maintains proper temperature of oil.
  • Feeds potato slices into kettles and adjusts the amounts according to potato gravity.
  • Salts and inspects chips coming from fryers; hand picks and removes poor quality chips.
  • Cleans up waste around salting tables and maintains a clean area throughout the shift.
  • Changes and sets blades for the slicer as needed.
  • Responsible for preparing manufacturing start-up at assigned work area.
  • Carries out all duties necessary for daily equipment shut down and daily cleaning.
  • Filters oil and changes filter pads.
  • Monitors equipment and reports malfunctions to maintenance or supervisor.
  • Assists peeler operator when not responsible for other duties.
