Hand Grind & Polish Technician
About The Position
A manufacturing organization headquartered in Western New York is seeking a Hand Grind & Polish Technician to join its growing team. This permanent, direct-hire position is located in the Northtowns and offers long-term growth opportunities in a stable environment. The role is full-time, 100% in-office, and works first shift from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Compensation is $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience. The technician performs finishing operations on machined steel and aluminum parts, using manual and pneumatic tools to meet customer requirements, blueprint specifications, and quality standards. The role also includes interpreting technical documentation, installing threaded inserts, inspecting and cleaning parts, following safety and quality requirements, and cross-training to support other departments as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment working with hand and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

- Ability to operate overhead cranes.
Responsibilities
- Perform deburring, grinding, and polishing operations on machined steel and aluminum parts to meet customer requirements, blueprint specifications, and established quality standards.
- Use pneumatic and manual tools to produce specified surface finishes and defect-free components.
- Review and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and other technical documentation.
- Install threaded inserts, including Helicoils and Keenserts, according to production requirements.
- Visually assess, clean, and wash finished parts to maintain quality standards.
- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, ISO standards, and company policies.
- Cross-train in other departments and provide support when production requires it.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
