Requirements

1+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Must be a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62.

Nice To Haves

1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Experience in handling chemicals and hazardous materials (i.e., isopropyl alcohol and metals).

Responsibilities

Review the work area and job assignments from the Team Leader or lead to understand tasks and priorities.
Examine CMES, manufacturing plans, and engineering drawings to determine the specific areas and parts to be worked on.
Perform hand finishing on milled spars, spar caps, skins, and small sheet metal parts (e.g., shear ties, clips, brackets) to specified tolerances and finishes.
Use a variety of hand and power tools—including files, scrapers, saws, routers, air-powered sanders, rotary files, abrasive wheels, and sanding discs—to remove machine marks, burrs, surface irregularities, and blemishes.
Break sharp edges and form specified radii and chamfers on parts to prevent cracking during forming operations such as hydroforming and stretching.
Clean surfaces using solvents and/or water, then wipe dry to prepare parts for further processing or packaging.
Mark parts as required and package finished parts using protective wrap and inter-leaf materials to ensure safe handling and transport.
Check own work for conformance to specifications and quality standards; stamp work orders to indicate completed operations.
Assist and collaborate with higher-classified employees to complete detailed parts and spar cap machining and finishing.
Handle and rack spar caps, parts, and materials safely, using shop handling equipment as needed.
Communicate with Team Leader, supervisor, or co-workers promptly when assistance is needed or if any issues arise.
