About The Position

The Hallmark Merchandiser independently services Hallmark departments in retail stores, including grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The role focuses on showcasing products, maintaining inventory and product placement, building relationships with retailer teams, and representing Hallmark in stores. Merchandisers use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for work tasks and communications, and may occasionally support other company products in stores.

The position includes regular day-to-day merchandising, additional support around seasonal holidays, and team assignments for department resets and installations. Seasonal work may involve extra days or extended hours, including work on some holidays. Reset assignments may involve evenings or weekends, with remodel assignments typically communicated two weeks in advance. Merchandisers may also assist teammates in other territories as needed.

This is a part-time role with a variable work-week schedule averaging 10–15 hours per week. Availability the week before and after major holidays is required, potentially including weekends. The work is physically demanding and takes place on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Be able to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Be able to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Have access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Have consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
• Be available the week before and after major holidays, potentially including weekends.
• Be available to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Responsibilities

• Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark products and inventory within and outside assigned Hallmark departments.
• Maintain the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores and optimize product placement.
• Use a mobile device to perform daily merchandising work, communicate with a supervisor, report time, provide feedback, and complete required surveys.
• Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
• Provide additional seasonal support before and after major holidays, including additional days or extended hours as needed.
• Participate in department installations and resets, including building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
• Support other merchandisers in their territories as needed.
• Travel between assigned stores as scheduled.
