About The Position
As a part-time Merchandiser, you independently service Hallmark departments in grocery, drug, department, and mass retail stores. You work with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory, represent Hallmark, and support other merchandisers with seasonal resets and installations as needed. You may occasionally work with products from other companies in the stores you service. The role includes day-to-day restocking, organizing, and monitoring Hallmark product displays; communicating with a supervisor and reporting time and merchandising activity using a Hallmark-provided mobile device; and interacting professionally with store employees, management, and customers. Seasonal demand can bring additional workdays and extended hours around major holidays. You may sometimes be required to work on the holiday itself, including weekends. Reset and installation assignments may involve building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; remodel assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may involve evenings or weekends. The schedule is variable during the work week and averages 6–8 hours per week. Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required, along with availability for season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support. The position is physically demanding and involves working on sales floors and in back stockrooms. Starting pay is $13.50–$15.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Paid training includes live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases. Part-time employees working fewer than 30 hours have access to voluntary benefits, including dental, vision, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, and minimum essential coverage for preventive care.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to read, write, and understand English.
- Able to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
- Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
- Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
- Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
- Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
Responsibilities
- Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory and displays at assigned retail stores.
- Use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for daily work, supervisor communications, time reporting, feedback, surveys, and required merchandising activities.
- Maintain the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
- Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
- Collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels.
- Support seasonal holiday demand with additional days or extended hours, and work on holidays when required.
- Participate in installations and department resets, including building and installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
- Support fellow merchandisers in their territories as needed.
- Be available for season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
