About The Position

As a Hairstylist for Fox News, you will prepare anchors, reporters, and contributors to appear on national television. You will join a team of artists and need strong hairstyling skills for both men and women, along with the ability to work in the rapidly changing environment of cable news. The role involves styling talent quickly and professionally, providing excellent service, supporting colleagues, and keeping the hair and makeup room clean and well stocked. Schedules may change, or shifts may start earlier or end later, to meet the needs of the news bureau during breaking news.

The position pays $39.75–$60.00 per hour, with the final offer depending on education, skills, experience, and location. The role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits under applicable plan documents. Benefits for union-represented employees are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working in television makeup and hair.
• Demonstrated hairstyling ability for both men and women.
• A high personal standard of excellence and meticulous, careful work.
• A warm, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to maintain a professional manner when greeting and looking after on-air talent as a representative of Fox News Channel.
• Promptness and dependability.
• Flexibility with a schedule that changes frequently depending on breaking news.

Responsibilities

• Style hair appropriately for television, working quickly and demonstrating proficiency with blow-outs, Velcro roller sets, and hot irons to create volume, smoothness, and defined hairstyles for women.
• Provide excellent customer service to people visiting Fox News by maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor.
• Identify and solve problems by proposing solutions.
• Support teammates, including helping prepare talent for air, and share responsibility for the hair and makeup room.
• Keep the hair and makeup room and personal work area clean, tidy, and free of clutter.
• Notify management when products need replenishment so supplies remain well stocked.
• Adjust schedules or work earlier or later than planned to accommodate changing news-bureau needs, including breaking news.
