About The Position

The Hair Stylist provides salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of hair. The role involves delivering quality technical services, recommending suitable retail products, building and maintaining a client base, and contributing to service and retail sales goals. The stylist also maintains a clean, compliant salon and personal work area, communicates with management, and keeps up with industry products, services, and developments.

The position offers ongoing in-salon training and opportunities to participate in outside education classes. The salons are located in high-traffic, premier mall locations throughout the Southeast. The position is nonexempt and reports to the Salon Manager.

Requirements

• Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
• Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.
• Creative, motivated, goal-oriented team player with a passion for the hair industry and willingness to keep learning.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
• Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
• Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
• Provide quality professional service through technical skills and prescribe appropriate retail products to clients.
• Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
• Exhibit good communication skills.
• Continue education on products, services, and current industry issues.
• Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
• Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
• Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
• Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
• Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
• Maintain an updated professional appearance and meet the salon dress code.
