About The Position

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties is committed to empowering all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We provide a broad range of programs and activities focused on four priority outcomes: Academic Success, Health & Well-Being, Character & Leadership, and Life & Workforce Readiness. Founded in 1995, Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties now serves more than 4,000 youth each year at 30 Club locations throughout Benton and Franklin Counties. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Branch Director and Program Director, the Gym Lead is responsible for ensuring quality programming in the gym and outside. Gym Lead is responsible for planning a variety of activities to engage all age groups, male and female club members. Gym Lead will run both National Boys & Girls Club curriculum and in house activities. Youth Development Professionals should enjoy working with youth, and create an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills. Youth Development Professionals foster positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members.

Requirements

  • High School Education
  • Ability to plan a variety of activities that engage youth Kinder through 12th grade in the gym and outside consistent with our three priority outcomes.
  • Ability to create a program setting that ensures the health and safety of members.
  • Ability to promote and market programs to club members.
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of the Club’s overall climate for youth development and success.
  • Ability to help to manage program supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to instill the value of stewardship and work to maintain upkeep of equipment.
  • Ability to ensure participation of members in National Boys & Girls Club programs.
  • Ability to organize activities and events to show case or highlight members.
  • Ability to help to maintain organization and cleanliness of building.

Nice To Haves

  • $.50/hr additional pay for bi-lingual staff (assessment required)

Responsibilities
