About The Position

JSL Technologies is seeking a GWS Lifecycle Engineering and Sustainment Specialist to provide engineering, logistics, testing, and fleet support for the Gun Weapon System (GWS) Program across lifecycle activities.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance level Secret.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Computer Engineering.
  • Ability to support equipment testing, technical documentation, troubleshooting, and fleet technical assistance.
  • Ability to travel in support of onboard technical assistance requests.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products and technical writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the technical industry or with Navy weapons or combat systems.
  • Experience supporting Engineering Change Proposals, Ordnance Alterations, Ship Alterations, technical manuals, Preventive Maintenance System documentation, or Installation Control Drawings.
  • Experience supporting Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages, obsolescence assessments, or mitigation activities.
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support Test and Evaluation efforts, including validation of Maintenance Requirement Cards, review of engineering and logistics reports, and evaluation of combat systems testing.
  • Develop test procedures and conduct equipment testing at the Surface Warfare Engineering Facility laboratory, land-based test sites, and onboard naval vessels.
  • Support development and review of Engineering Change Proposals, Ordnance Alterations, and Ship Alterations for design improvements and equipment modifications.
  • Conduct market research and engineering assessments to support Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages mitigation strategies and hardware design changes for obsolete components.
  • Develop, review, and update Installation Control Drawings, technical manuals, Preventive Maintenance System documents, and Ordnance Alteration instructions.
  • Generate project reports and test-result documentation.
  • Provide fleet support, troubleshooting, and technical assistance from the office and through onboard technical assistance as required.
  • Coordinate movement of equipment and support quality inspection, evaluation, and reporting of material received from vendors and during hardware production.
  • Support project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, progress reports, data calls, and program meetings.
  • Obtain knowledge of MK 34 and MK 48 Gun Weapon Systems through on-the-job training at the In-Service Engineering Agent laboratories.
