About the position
This job opportunity is for a Mentor in Udacity's scholarship programs. As a Mentor, you will provide career support to students in their Nanodegree journey or beyond. The role requires proficiency in English and Arabic, as well as technical competence in web development technologies. You will attend meetings, conduct webinars, verify completed projects, and support the program's survey responses. This position offers the chance to gain recognition for your technical knowledge, earn additional income, contribute to a global student community, and stay updated on cutting-edge technologies. Responsibilities
- Attend bi-weekly meetings with Udacity careers ops for discussing students' progress
- Conduct webinars and/or sessions to deliver freelancing experience to Udacity learners
- Support Udacity learners and build a strong sense of community through motivational posts, sharing knowledge, sharing helpful articles, and answering students' questions
- Verify completed freelancing projects (Gigs) submitted by students
- Prepare presentation materials for both recorded and live webinars
- Support in increasing the program's survey responses
Requirements
- Must be an Omani Citizen.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic both written and spoken.
- Experience as an active freelancer with at least 2 years of experience.
- Technical competence: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Webpack/Gulp/Grunt, Frontend Framework (Angular/React/Vue), CSS Preprocessors, RESTful API structure, NodeJS, and ExpressJS.
- Background in freelancing marketplaces and platforms (such as UpWork, Freelancer.com, PeoplePerHour, guru.com, Fiverr, Khamsat, Mostaql, or TopTal).
- Experience in completing freelancing projects on Freelancer.com, Upwork.com and People Per Hour platforms.
- Average annual freelancing earnings of min $2000.
- Graduate from any Web Development Nanodegree or a more advanced one in the same field is an added plus.
- Experience teaching technical and/or freelancing concepts and public speaking.
