About The Position

The Gunsmith plays a vital role in maintaining the quality, reliability, and performance of Beretta's firearms. This position is centered on hands-on craftsmanship, repairing, modifying, and enhancing firearms to meet manufacturing warranties, customer expectations, and precise specifications. In this role, you will apply advanced gunsmithing skills such as barrel replacement, chambering and head spacing adjustments, welding, soldering, heat treating, and occasional custom part fabrication. You will also restore or replace stocks and forends, ensuring both functionality and finish meet the highest standards. A strong understanding of firearm components, their configurations, and interchangeability across models is essential. Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of firearms and how they operate.
  • Ability to understand the mechanical function and interaction of the firearm’s working parts.
  • Ability to understand the differences and proper use of various ammunitions.
  • Must have concise and detailed work habits to ensure safety and the proper functioning of the repaired product.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use computer.
  • Ability to travel by plane as needed.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity.
  • Ability to work with machines and tools/hand tools.
  • Ability to work weekends when necessary.
  • Certification from Gunsmith school or equivalent experience/training in firearms repair.
  • Graduate of a recognized Gunsmith school, with a minimum of 2 years of firearms repair and rework using the recognized tools and machines of the trade, or combination of training/experience.
  • Computer experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work/repairs on ALL pistol types.
  • Perform repairs on more complex firearms such as different models of Semi auto and Entry level Over/under shotguns.
  • Assesses the condition of firearms received for repair or parts replacement.
  • Reads and interprets customer’s description of problem with firearm.
  • Breaks firearms down and makes necessary repairs.
  • Order parts; prepare quotes and close out folders on repaired firearms in system.
  • Trouble shoots problems with diagnostic skills.
  • Determine needs for parts stock and tools; complete order form from service department to obtain parts.
  • Inspect firearms after use at shows/demo’s and may clean guns at customer request.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning for work area, equipment, and tools.
  • Support other departments such as Sales/Marketing and T&Es by repairing/inspecting the firearms in a timely manner.
  • Repairs of products with little or no supervision.
  • Assist in training other Gunsmiths.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
